Qualifications

Rob has practiced law for over twenty-five years, appearing at every level of the North Carolina Court system from Magistrate’s Court to oral arguments in the North Carolina Supreme Court, as well as practicing in the Federal Court system.  Most of his experience is at the Superior Court level, where he has litigated matters, including negligence actions, constitutional claims, contract claims, employment disputes, condemnation, and injunctive relief.

Rob spent the first half of his career in private practice as a litigator with one of Fayetteville’s oldest law firms, Anderson, Johnson, Lawrence, Butler, & Bock, where he handled all aspects of litigation, including motions, arbitration, mediation, and trials.  While in private practice, he also served for several years as a District Court Arbitrator, sitting one day per month and deciding cases that came before him.  He also completed the extensive training to become a Certified North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission Mediator.  He spent a portion of his time handling other matters, including criminal law, wills and estates, and appellate work.

In 2012, Rob transitioned into the public sector, where he currently works as an Assistant County Attorney for Cumberland County, where he handles in-house litigation, enforces criminal ordinance violations, provides legal advice to boards and departments, and conducts quasi-judicial hearings involving various county departments.
